If you are dedicated to excellence, driven by growth, and seeking a position where your skills and expertise will be valued, we invite you to join our team to train and coach commercial drivers as a DOT Field Training & Safety Specialist (Posted as a CDL Driver Trainer).Job DescriptionThe Field Training & Safety Specialist is responsible for delivering driver onboarding, ELDT alignment, function-specific truck and bulk plant tank operations, and HOS/DVIR coaching. This position conducts ride-alongs, road tests, and remedial training to ensure compliance, safety, and operational excellence across the northern California region.ResponsibilitiesExecute training matrix: General Awareness, Function-Specific (49 CFR 177), Safety, Security Awareness, ELD training and monitoring, terminal rack procedures.Conduct initial road tests; skills checks for pre-trip/en-route inspections, placarding, documentation, rack and bulk plant loading/unloading (bonding/grounding, vapor recovery), surge/rollover prevention.Assign LMS online training modules, ELD exceptions, camera events, policy refreshers.Validate training certificates and maintain expirables dashboard.Lead local bulk plant fuel loading equipment training; lead terminal talks and support drills and incident investigations.Conduct and administer safety trainingsEducation and Required/Preferred ExperienceKnowledge of DOT, FMCSA, CVSA, OSHA, and hazardous materials regulations. Effective trainer and coach with hands-on field experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities. Promotes a culture of safety and compliance through leadership and teamwork. Adaptable to changing regulations and operational needs. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, 5 years of related experience, preferably in the petroleum industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.CDL-A X, HM Endorsements5+ years of tanker/hazmat or driver experience; adult-learning capability. HAZWOPERExperience with training in the transportation industry. Experience with the National Incident Reporting System.
