Ultrasound Technologist, Reg, 0-2 yrs - Contract

Position OverviewThe Ultrasound Technologist performs or assists in ultrasound examinations, renders technical assistance to the Radiologist, and maintains and cares for all ultrasound equipment. This is a contract position for 3 months, located in the vibrant and dynamic city of New York, NY. Enjoy the opportunity to work in a bustling healthcare environment while experiencing everything New York has to offer.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and examine all patients, verifying their identity for ultrasound examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques.Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment, clean and make minor adjustments, and take necessary safety precautions.Communicate with the patient, their representative, and staff, explaining the exam and answering questions.Develop and/or modify a procedure plan from health status and medical history, using age and gender-appropriate considerations.Analyze sonographic findings to ensure comprehensive exams for physician diagnosis.Notify appropriate healthcare provider when immediate medical attention is needed.Record diagnostic images and data for use by the interpreting physician and for archival purposes.Ensure adequate supplies are available for use and help maintain a clean and safe working environment.Assist in the orientation and mentorship of new Ultrasound personnel.Perform other duties as required.Skills And Qualifications2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook).Knowledge of office and administrative practices.Skill in the use of personal computers and software.Ability to problem solve and make decisions.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion.EducationHigh School graduate and registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
