This position directly supports the Rides Manager with efficient operation of the department which provides a positive guest experience.This position’s duties include -- but are not limited to -- assisting with the management of the department, supervising, monitoring, and attending to park rides, including boarding, securing passengers, operating rides, and ensuring passengers exit safely. This position will also conduct daily audits to ensure sure the park’s safety and operating policies are being properly followed.We Are Currently Looking For aStory Land Ride Supervisor (Seasonal)Roles & ResponsibilitiesRoles and Responsibilities:Supervisory DutiesSupervise the daily operations of the Rides team and any other assigned departmentsLead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Story Land’s core valuesAct as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hostsBecome knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all rides positions and backfill these positions when neededParticipate in all aspects of supervision of assigned hosts, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline.Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are being given in accordance with New Hampshire lawAssist with host scheduling and timekeeping activitiesDepartmental DutiesMaintains a vast knowledge of a group of rides in a designated zone of the park and be able to step in at an attraction when necessaryEnsures that attractions open and close at the proper times established by the operational needs of the dayProvides direct support to other rides hosts by making rounds throughout the park to check on their needsManages guest feedback and escalates complaints or issues to the proper authorities, when appropriateProvides coverage so that hosts may take bathroom breaksEnforces Park policies, ride restrictions and ride recommendationsEnsures safe operation of the ride by always adhering to standard operating procedures and established trainingsMaintains a sense of calmness and professionalism during tense, escalated or emergency situationsReports ride related issues and failures to management promptlyMaintains constant vigilance to proactively identify potential hazards and informs park leadership of any concernsPromptly notifies the security team or the park operator of host and guest injuries or emergenciesAll other duties assigned by leadershipEducation & ExperienceThere is no minimum education requirement.1+ years of previous supervisory experience desired1+ season of work experience in the Rides Department is required. Previous ride operation experience from other Amusement/Theme Park employers will also be considered.All Rides Hosts must go through the International Ride Operator Certification (iROC) course as a part of the training. Successful course completion is required for this position. There is no cost to the team member for the course.Languages: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.RequirementsMust be at least 18 years of age to comply with New Hampshire Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to comply with all uniform policiesMust possess safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all Federal, State, and local regulations regarding ride operationMust demonstrate a willingness to learn and ability to follow instructionsMust be guest-focused and also work well with other hosts and supervisorsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, stoop, twist, kneel, bend, or squat for long periods of timeAbility to reach above shoulders throughout the workdayAbility to remain on feet for majority of the workdayAbility to climb or descend stairs for some coasters, rides, and attractionsAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or moreAbility to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayWorking ConditionsFrequent interaction a variety of motorized and chain-driven rides and attractionsFrequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain and other weather conditionsFrequent exposure to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, vibrations, and heavily populated environmentsWorking at Story Land is about making people happy!
