If the applicant is outside of NYC, the role can be remote.Role DescriptionWe are looking for a PR Associate with at least 1–2 years of professional experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, lifestyle, or destination PR. This is not a student internship or entry-level student role. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in communications, experience supporting earned media campaigns, and a genuine interest in the travel and tourism sector.The PR Associate should be comfortable drafting press releases, media pitches, briefing documents, media lists, client updates, and other earned media materials. They should also have the interpersonal skills to build and maintain productive relationships with journalists, editors, freelancers, and media contacts across travel, lifestyle, culture, food, business, and consumer publications. Excellent written and verbal communication is essential, as this person will regularly represent Trove and its destination clients in external-facing correspondence.The ideal candidate will understand the basics of strategic communications, media relations, and client service. Experience within tourism boards, destination marketing organizations, hotels, travel brands, PR agencies, or related organizations is strongly preferred. Existing relationships with travel and lifestyle media are a plus.Candidates should bring strong organizational habits, a sharp eye for detail, the ability to manage deadlines, and comfort working across multiple clients and projects in a fast-moving agency environment. We are looking for someone proactive, polished, curious, and reliable — someone who can take initiative, contribute ideas, ask good questions, and support a team doing meaningful work at the intersection of travel, culture, and community.QualificationsAt least 1–2 years of professional experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, lifestyle, destination, or agency PRStrong writing skills, including experience drafting press releases, pitches, media alerts, briefing documents, and related PR materialsStrong public relations, communications, and media relations skillsExperience building and maintaining media lists and communicating with journalists, editors, freelancers, and media contactsFamiliarity with travel, tourism, destination marketing, or hospitality communicationsExperience or connections within travel, tourism, lifestyle, food, culture, or consumer publications is a plusUnderstanding of strategic communications and earned media campaign supportExcellent attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and ability to meet deadlinesAbility to work across multiple clients and projects in a fast-paced agency environmentBachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Tourism, or a related field preferredProactive, professional attitude with a willingness to learn, contribute, and grow with the team
