Technical Services Engineer
Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Manager of Technical Services, the Technical Services Engineer will be providing technical support for customer processes, troubleshooting, and can/end failure investigations directly at customer locations. This engineer will be trained in 2-piece and 3-piece steel can and steel end manufacturing to provide a high level of manufacturing knowledge to the customer.
What you'll be doing
Follows all company and customer safety protocols and maintains a safe working environment.
Travels to customer locations on a regular basis
Possesses technical/regulatory knowledge to provide various certifications of steel cans and ends
Starts customer complaint investigations by gathering samples, all relevant traceability information, and other information as required
Works with customers to quarantine suspect product while minimizing disruptions to their operation
Leads or assists in sorting or containment activities at customer locations
Provides training to customers on steel food cans and ends and double seam evaluation
Prepares specification documents and other customer communications as required
Conducts statistical analysis of manufacturing data
Communicates technical details clearly in a manner that customers will understand
Builds strong interpersonal relationships internally with manufacturing locations and externally at customer locations
Provides plant and technical project support as required
Location
This position will be located in Oakdale, California.

BS in a physical science or engineering field. Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Packaging, or mechanical/chemical/metallurgical/materials science engineering.
2 or more years experience in industrial or academic laboratory
Food or personal care products manufacturing
Food, beverage, or consumer products manufacturing
Steel, coatings, or corrosion testing/engineering experience
Strong communication skills
Microsoft Office suite applications
Data analysis and statistical analysis capabilities

Working conditions: 50–75% travel to customer or internal manufacturing location
Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is below. A higher base salary may be available depending on experience and qualifications.
Engineer I role is from $73,280 – $82,440.
Engineer II role is from $88,000 – $99,000.
Engineer III role is from $107,440 – $120,870, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of the base salary.
Engineer IV role is from $122,320 – $137,610, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of the base salary.
