This role drives operational excellence by improving delivery and cost performance, while supporting new product introductions and scaling production capabilities. This role supports production of complex, high-reliability aerospace assemblies while ensuring compliance with aerospace regulations and customer requirements.Primary Responsibilities / Key Result AreasLead, mentor and develop a team of manufacturing engineersOwn and execute continuous improvement efforts at our Itasca, Illinois and Amsterdam, Netherlands manufacturing facilitiesDrive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis methodologiesOversee process development, validation, and implementation for new and existing productsPartner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, Production Engineering) to ensure seamless production supportDevelop and maintain standardized work, process documentation and manufacturing instructions for all areas of the business (Shipping, Receiving, Production, Inspection, etc.)Develop, monitor and improve metrics so individuals and teams know “what good looks like.”COMPETENCIESKnowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes (assembly, production, inspection, etc.) a plus, especially those with ISO9001/AS9100 certificationsFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems required (NAV and/or SAP a plus)Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong project management and organizational skillsExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field10+ years of engineering experience in an aerospace or other highly regulated industries3-5 years of leadership experience managing engineering teamsLean Six Sigma black belt certification requiredExtensive experience leading Kaizen events and process mapping sessions to document processes and facilitate root cause solutioningExperience with process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), PFMEA, control plans, and statistical process control (SPC)What You’ll GainHands-on experience in manufacturing environmentsOpportunity to effect change in an organizationMentorship from experienced engineers and industry professionalsOpportunity to contribute to impactful projectsSES and its Affiliated Companies are committed to providing fair and equal employment opportunities to all.
