Job DescriptionThe Network Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, performance, and reliability of the organization’s enterprise network infrastructure. This position supervises network staff and contractors while ensuring the secure, stable, and efficient operation of wired, wireless, WAN, SD-WAN, and datacenter networking environments. The role supports infrastructure modernization initiatives and ensures network services meet organizational requirements for clinical, operational, and administrative systems. The Network Supervisor collaborates with IT leadership, security teams, vendors, and project teams to maintain high availability, performance, and security of network services. Oversee and manage enterprise telephony systems, including VoIP platforms, call routing, SIP trunking, and integration with collaboration tools Ensure high availability, performance, and lifecycle management of voice infrastructure across all sites Coordinate design, deployment, and optimization of unified communications (UC) platforms, ensuring alignment with organizational needs Collaborate with vendors and service providers for telephony and conferencing services, including contract management and service-level enforcement Plan and manage infrastructure-related projects, including network, telephony, and collaboration initiatives from initiation through completion Develop project scopes, timelines, resource plans, and budgets; track progress and report status to leadership Lead cross-functional coordination between IT teams, clinical/business units, and external partners for project delivery Drive standardization and documentation of telephony, VTC, and network processes, including diagrams, runbooks, and operational procedures Identify opportunities for modernization, cost optimization, and improved user experience across communication platforms Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and security requirements for voice and video communications systems Supervise the daily operation of enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, wireless, datacenter networking, and remote connectivity.Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity to ensure reliable service delivery.Oversee troubleshooting of network incidents, outages, and performance issues.Ensure timely resolution of service tickets and escalation of critical issues.Maintain documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.Support network upgrade initiatives, including routing, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN implementations.Coordinate infrastructure projects with vendors and internal IT teams.Assist in planning and executing network improvements to support clinical and business systems.Participate in datacenter and redundancy planning efforts.Work closely with the cybersecurity team to ensure network security controls are implemented and maintained.Support firewall, segmentation, and access control strategies.Assist in maintaining compliance with healthcare security and privacy requirements.Participate in vulnerability remediation and incident response support as needed.Supervise network engineers, analysts, and/or technical staff.Assign and prioritize operational tasks and project work.Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback.Assist in staff scheduling, on-call coordination, and workload balancing.Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training activities.Vendor & Service CoordinationCoordinate with network vendors, service providers, and support partners.Oversee circuit performance and carrier escalations.Assist in evaluating new networking technologies and solutions.Support contract and maintenance tracking activities.Governance & DocumentationEnsure network operations follow established IT governance and change management processes.Maintain operational standards, procedures, and configuration documentation.Support audit requests and reporting related to network infrastructure.Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong understanding of enterprise network architecture and design principlesKnowledge of network security best practices and segmentation strategiesAbility to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsAbility to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholdersLeadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide technical staffAbility to work collaboratively across IT and business departmentsSupervisory ResponsibilitiesSupervises network engineers, analysts, contractors, and/or support personnel as assigned.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting and working on a computerAbility to occasionally lift network equipment up to 25 poundsAbility to respond to on-site technical issues when necessaryWorking ConditionsStandard office and datacenter environmentsParticipation in on-call rotation may be requiredOccasional after-hours or weekend work during outages, maintenance, or projectsQualificationsEducation:Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field OREquivalent combination of education, technical certifications, and relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degreePreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fieldProfessional certifications such as:Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent)Fortinet (NSE or equivalent)Experience with:Cisco networking environmentsFortinet firewalls and security platformsSD-WAN technologiesHealthcare or public sector IT environmentsDatacenter networking and redundancy designExperience:Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in network administration or engineeringMinimum 2 years of supervisory or team-lead experienceStrong experience supporting enterprise routing, switching, and wireless environmentsExperience troubleshooting complex network issues in production environmentsAbility to lead operational response during network incidentsCertification:N/ALicensure:N/ARegistrations:N/ATraining:N/AAbout UsThe Health Care District of Palm Beach County is an independent special taxing district that has served as a healthcare safety net for more than 36 years to fill in gaps in access to healthcare services.
