Central Provisions is a James Beard Award finalist restaurant located in the Old Port of Portland. A cook at our restaurant has the opportunity to experience a wide variety of culinary styles and produce in our seasonally inspired small plates restaurant with international flavors. We make everything from scratch, from the most basic stocks to pasta to goat cheese. Our chefs are fanatic about making sure every ingredient is used to its fullest potential in flavor and food cost. We source our ingredients from local farms as much as possible.
Highly motivated professional cooks that have a strong desire to learn and the ability to take direction will thrive at our restaurant. Must be self-motivated to constantly improve in all aspects (most importantly knowledge and attention to detail while maintaining and improving speed) with guidance from our Chefs. Pastry chef experience is a must.
This is an hourly position that is five days a week with 40 hours of regular pay and up to 5 hours of overtime. Two days off are scheduled in a row for employees' convenience. We contribute 50% to health insurance that is available after 90 days. This is a year-round position!! Staff meal is provided daily.
