This 19-bed unit provides comprehensive care for mothers and newborns, with nurses playing a critical role in monitoring patient status, supporting safe deliveries, and responding to complications. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Labor and Delivery nurses seeking to work in a high-acuity, collaborative environment with opportunities for continued growth.Benefits and CompensationStarting pay at$32.45 per hourShift differentials:Nights: +$5.00 per hourWeekends: +$2.00 per hourCritical Care: +$2.00 per hour$10,000 sign-on bonus (Must have 2 years of L&D experience to qualify)Full-time employment with variable shifts availableCross-training opportunities within Women's and Children's servicesProfessional development and certification supportWork in a high-volume, fast-paced Labor and Delivery environmentComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverageAccident, critical illness, and wellness perks401(k) with retirement planning supportLife insurance, AD&D, and disability coverageFlexible spending accounts and preferred legal servicesEmployee assistance programsTuition reimbursement for continued educationPaid time off to recharge and maintain work-life balanceOptional supplemental benefits to fit your lifestyleQualificationsRequired:Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of FloridaMinimum2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experienceCurrent BLS certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)Strong fetal monitoring and obstetrical nursing skillsAbility to circulate and recover Cesarean section and GYN casesAbility to safely administer obstetrical medications, including Tocolytic agentsRequired within specified timeframe of hire:NRP certification within 90 days of hire and maintainedSTABLE certification within 1 year of hire and maintainedAdvanced Life Support (ALS) certification within 6 months of hire and maintainedBasic cardiology certification within 60 days of hire and updated annuallyIntermediate Fetal Monitoring course within 6 months of hire and fetal monitoring updates every 2 yearsPreferred:RNC-OB certificationExperience in high-volume Labor and Delivery settingsResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, and recoveryUtilize fetal monitoring systems, including Fetal Link, to assess and monitor fetal wellbeingDemonstrate competence in fetal heart monitoring, including application, patient education, internal scalp electrode placement, assisting with intrauterine pressure catheter placement, antenatal testing, interpretation, and appropriate clinical interventionsAssess patients, identify obstetrical and neonatal nursing diagnoses, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plansSafely administer medications, including Tocolytic agents, and monitor patient responseCirculate and assist during Cesarean section and GYN proceduresRecover patients following Cesarean section and surgical proceduresDocument patient care accurately and maintain compliance with clinical and regulatory standardsEducate patients and families throughout the labor and delivery processMaintain readiness of equipment and respond effectively to obstetrical emergenciesParticipate in ongoing education, training, and quality improvement initiativesBackground Screening Requirement (Florida):This position requires background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law (Section 435.12).
