Occupational Therapist
Relate & Grow is looking for a licensed Occupational Therapist who is able to work part-time with children with autism. There are currently 4 children that are in need of an Occupational Therapist. Additional cases may be available PRN in the future within Lancaster, Columbus, or other areas in Central Ohio. Therapist can grow their caseload as their availability and interest allows.
The current openings include:
Providing 4, 1-hour visits per month at the child's home in Reynoldsburg, OH. The family's preference for visits is Wednesday mornings or any time on Fridays, but this schedule can be modified to match the therapist and family availability.
Providing 4, 1-hour visits per month at the child's home in Hilliard, OH. The family's preference for visits is Wednesday mornings or any time on Fridays, but this schedule can be modified to match the therapist and family availability.
Providing 4, 1-hour visits per month at the child's home in Worthington, OH. The family's preference for visits is Wednesday mornings or any time on Fridays, but this schedule can be modified to match the therapist and family availability.

Responsibilities
Address client’s adaptive, functional, sensory, and motor needs as specified within the occupational therapist's professional guidelines
Individualize treatment based on client's needs and caregiver input
Teach clients and their caregivers new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components
Assess client’s home and other environments and advice caregivers on alterations consistent with the client's needs and capabilities
Recommend adaptive equipment when necessary and train client or caregiver in its use
Guide and educate family members and caregivers, provide suggestions for continuation of therapeutic activities during daily interactions and tasks.
Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short term treatment goals
Collect data and document processes followed
Regularly follow-up with client and caregiver
Skills
Proven working experience as occupational therapist (field work experience during training is considered)
Ability to work independently while following professional and license guidelines
Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of occupational therapy
Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
Familiarity with evaluation tools
Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities and diagnoses
Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession
Professional behavior
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Valid license to practice occupational therapy
BS degree or greater in occupational therapy

Relate & Grow is a provider of developmental, relationship-based intervention services and professional development trainings that help children thrive. Our services are based on the DIR (Developmental Individual differences and Relationship-based) framework and include the PLAY Project and the DIR Floortime models of intervention. Interested applicants do not need to have prior knowledge of the DIR framework or PLAY Project model; but must be open to understanding the role of affect (emotions) and relationships in development, the importance of recognizing the child’s individual differences, and be willing to provide developmentally appropriate therapy.
Relate & Grow’s employees have access to training opportunities on the DIR Floortime and PLAY Project models and are supervised by our Director who is certified as an expert trainer and supervisor with the 3 major national DIR organizations, including the PLAY Project, ICDL (the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning) and the Profectum Foundation.
