Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a key role in supporting providers and the care team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered healthcare within a managed care environment. The MA performs both clinical and administrative duties to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and compliance with managed care protocols and quality metrics.Clinical Responsibilities:Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and readiness for patient visitsEscort patients to exam rooms, verify patient identity, obtain and document vital signs, chief complaint, and medical history in the electronic health record (EHR)Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments as neededAdminister immunizations, injections, and medications under the providers supervision and according to state and clinic policyPerform EKGs, vision tests, and other diagnostic screenings as requiredCollect and process lab specimens; ensure proper labeling and documentationMaintain accurate and timely charting in the EHR, ensuring all information is complete prior to provider reviewConduct pre-charting and ensure all required documentation, lab results, and preventive care items are updated prior to visitsParticipate in care coordination, follow-up on provider orders, referrals, and test resultsSupport patient education on chronic disease management, preventive care, and treatment plansAdministrative Responsibilities:Manage patient check-in/check-out procedures when neededHandle phone calls, messages, and patient inquiries in a timely and professional mannerEnsure all messages contain complete information for provider review (symptoms, duration, medications, etc.)Schedule, diagnostic tests, and follow-up appointments as directedMaintain medical inventory and order supplies as necessaryParticipate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiativesPerformance Expectations:Accurately complete pre-charting prior to patient appointmentsFollow up on patient messages and care coordination tasks within designated timelines. Demonstrate adherence to managed care protocols and quality indicators (HEDIS, Stars, etc.)Maintain a professional demeanor and contribute to a positive patient experienceAlways ensure HIPAA compliance and patient confidentialityPerform Other Duties as AssignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Exceptional customer service skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
