Coordinator of Campus Activities and Recreation

Eckerd College is currently hiring for the position of Coordinator of Campus Activities and Recreation to join our Student Success team at our waterfront property along the Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg, Florida, in our relationship-focused community.As the Coordinator of Campus Activities and Recreation, you will provide support with social, recreational, and entertainment programming on campus. This role will manage operations of the department including maintaining the facilities, spaces, equipment and vehicles. This position will act as a staff presence during community events and programs in the evening and on weekends.The role requires the incumbent to have knowledge of planning campus activities and events; ability to implement programs on campus and generate student participation. The coordinator must be able communicate effectively in both verbal and written form as well as the ability to lead and direct the work of others. The person in this position is required to live-on campus. (Campus housing and utilities will be provided.)Benefits OverviewEckerd College offers a competitive benefits package, including the following:* 100 percent tuition remission for employees, spouses, and dependents; access to Tuition Exchange network* HMO and HDHP medical insurance options; employer contribution to HSA for those on the high deductible plan that start date of hire.* PPO dental and vision insurance networks; employer-provided life, short-term disability, and long-term disability plans that start date of hire.* Generous employer contribution to employee's retirement plan upon eligibility.Key Responsibilities* Plan, support, implement, and supervise departmental programs and events including late night weekend programming, recreation/intramurals programs, student organization activities, and major campus events.* Provide support for ECOS activities/projects including event planning, purchasing, room reservations and project management.* Plan and implement campus-sponsored fitness and wellness programs including group fitness classes, personal training, teaching life-sports, fitness & wellness challenges, and educational workshops.* Assist with the maintenance, scheduling, and operations of the Fitness Center, Aquatics Center, Go Pavilion, Recreation Fields, Triton's Pub, Hough Center, Outdoor Sport Courts, South Beach, and Scovanner Pavilion.* Track, maintain, and upkeep equipment, storage rooms, vehicles (vans and golf carts), and event /audio-visual equipment.* Oversee email approval, posting, tabling, and event process ensuring all activities meet respective policy requirements and guidelines.* Assist students in connecting with areas of personal interest on campus including clubs, College programs and leadership opportunities.* Identify, develop, and implement programs that aim to connect students with College and departmental programs.* Advise leaders of sport clubs club heads in the planning, budgeting, and presentation of events.* Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, supervising, and evaluating of student staff including; intramural supervisors, sports officials, lifeguards, group fitness instructors, campus activities workers, event staff, and, activators, fitness center staff.* Advise student groups as needed including Palmetto Productions (Student Activities Broad), ECOS branches (Student Government) or other students committees.Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in a related field; preferred 1-2 years of experience in programming and coordinating campus events. The equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.* Required to live-on campus.
