Senior Engineer - RISC

Advantech is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with a focus on RISC-based computing platforms. This role combines hands‑on circuit design support, system validation, and customer‑facing technical support. This role is well suited for an engineer who demonstrates initiative, effectively manages competing priorities, and can identify and resolve issues during product validation. Responsibilities Support the integration, design, and validation of system architectures, interfaces, and electrical circuits for RISC‑based embedded computing platforms. Collaborate with software and firmware developers throughout system development Provide pre‑sales and post‑sales technical support, including feasibility testing, data measurements, technical responses to customer bids, RMA verification, and on‑site technical training Assess customer technical requirements, develop solutions, perform system testing, and support installation in customer environments Build hardware and software demonstration prototypes to support sales and marketing efforts, including rapid prototyping and system integration Address field issues and coordinate with field sales personnel Ability to occasionally lift and carry moderate‑weight equipment and work for extended periods while sitting, standing, or walking, with or without reasonable accommodation. Qualifications 7+ years of experience with RISC and x86 hardware design, installation, and troubleshooting Strong understanding of RISC‑based (e.g., Arm) computing architectures Ability to use a multimeter, oscilloscope, and other standard electronic troubleshooting equipment Ability to read and troubleshoot mechanical drawings, schematics, and PCB circuits Experience with application coding using industry‑standard languages such as C is a plus Familiarity with Linux environments Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field Experience with RISC‑V based designs Experience supporting customers in a technical pre‑sales or post‑sales capacity Competitive salary dependent on experience (DOE) Winning culture with a friendly, team‑oriented environment!
