POSITION SUMMARYThis position is a /casual marine position which includes upkeep of all vessels and relatedequipment in accordance with the Captain's and/or Pilot's, Boatswain's instructions. Mostjob responsibilities require little or no previous skills. Required to hose, buff, swab, sweep,and scrub the vessel as well as monitor passenger access/egress areas for safety andintegrity. This position is required to work safely and efficiently in accordance withinstructions, general operating practices, and procedures. Work is focused on immediateunit with limited awareness of related areas. Work schedules can be modified to fit thedepartmental needs which may require the employee to work shift work and/or weekends.Work is performed indoors/outdoors and can be in any weather condition. This casualposition is part-time with no guaranteed minimum number of hours, nor are there anyguaranteed assignments.I. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Proper cleaning of vessel's bathrooms* Trash removal from the vessel on every arrival* Cleaning and polishing brass/stainless surfaces/windows* Snow removal and salting to maintain safe footing aboard the vessel* Other duties as assigned* Provides the highest level of customer service and professionalism to all internaland external customers* Contributes to the safe operation of vessels and equipment* Responds decisively and effectively to emergency situationsIII. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES* Possess excellent customer service skills* Ability to understand relevant Authority policies and procedures and safetytechniques* Ability to traverse inclined and vertical ramps and ladders* Ability to provide superior customer service to everyone by responding in acourteous and efficient mannerIV. LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, AND/OR CERTIFICATES* Valid driver's license* Valid TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Card)* Valid MMC (Merchant Mariners Credential) endorsed as Ordinary SeamanVI. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE* Must be at least 18 years old* High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent related experienceVII.
