Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and LeasingLand SubdivisionOther Heavy and Civil Engineering ConstructionPerforming Arts CompaniesFoundation, Structure, and Building Exterior ContractorsOverviewAn established Data Center developer is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support the delivery of mission-critical projects across Southern California.This role will work closely with senior construction leadership and be based primarily on-site, supporting day-to-day coordination and execution of active developments.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport delivery of complex construction projects from preconstruction through close-outCoordinate across general contractors, design consultants, commissioning teams, utilities, and internal stakeholdersReview contractor reports, schedules, budgets, and change events to identify risks and drive resolutionDevelop a strong understanding of drawings, specifications, and contract documents to support effective project executionAssist with procurement processes, including bid review and scope alignmentSupport constructability reviews, logistics planning, and early works coordinationAssist with permitting processes and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) coordinationTrack approvals and milestones impacting construction start and energizationSupport budgeting, cost tracking, and monthly reportingReview pay applications and change orders for accuracy and scope alignmentMaintain project logs (RFIs, submittals, long-lead items, and key milestones)Coordinate with utility providers (power, water, telecom) and track utility-driven deliverablesIdentify and flag risks related to utilities, schedule, or scopeSupport design coordination and review of RFIs and submittalsGain exposure to mission-critical systems, including electrical, backup power, and cooling infrastructureAssist with punch list management, commissioning coordination, and close-out documentationSupport handover documentation, including as-builts and O&M manualsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline3–5 years of experience in construction, project engineering, or owner's representationExperience on industrial, large commercial, or mission-critical projects preferredStrong understanding of construction documentation and project coordination processesProficiency in Excel and construction management tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam)Exposure to data center or mission-critical environments is advantageousFamiliarity with permitting and utility coordination (or willingness to learn)Experience reviewing RFIs, submittals, and pay applicationsStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesClear and effective communicator with contractors and consultantsComfortable working in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environmentProactive, coachable, and motivated to grow within a project delivery environmentSolid understanding of cost, schedule, and risk management principles
