Fiber/OSP Lead DesignerLocation: Tampa, FLJob Type: Full Time, SalaryCompensation: $48,000 - $63,000 (based on experience)Travel: 25%TEP is seeking a full-time Lead Designer in our Tampa. FL office. As a Lead Designer, you will serve as an integral member of our fiber engineering team, working on projects such as: dark fiber, enterprise, E-Rate, and fiber to the home (FTTH). TEP offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, 401k with company match, and a relaxed, fun environment.Lead Designer ResponsibilitiesPrepare and develop detailed construction and permitting drawing packages, using AutoCADCoordinate preparation of design, details, plans and drawings within assigned task areasDevise new approaches to problems and prepare or modify drawings, monitor work compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and TEP standardsCommunicate with fellow employees and managers to ensure timely and efficient completion of projects and proper communication of any issuesRecognize areas of concern or question, and clearly communicate those concerns to your manager, providing possible solution(s) to the issueProvide support to all team members by assisting in prioritizing and managing workloadsMay assist with client interaction to include correspondence to clients, problem resolution, and final reports to meet required deadlinesMay assist with the training of new entry-level designers/draftersOther duties as assignedQualification RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Minimum Qualifications2+ years of direct experience with fiber network designs, must have a basic understanding of industry engineering and permitting standards4+ years of direct AutoCAD experience (preferably using AutoCAD Civil 3D)Ability to multi-task and work on different projects simultaneouslyAbility to receive direction and work independently or with a team depending on the assignmentStrong technical, written, and oral communications skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to manage project completion deadlinesTime management skillsUnderstanding of proprietary informationAbility to problem solveTEP is an equal opportunity employer.
