Aon Global Risk ConsultingWe have an excellent career opportunity in our Casualty Risk Consulting practice for a Risk Consultant, working as an operational risk control consultant to Aon clients.Aon is in the business of better decisionsAt Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.What The Day Will Look LikeCompleting diagnostic loss analyses and qualitative reviews to identify trends and financial improvement impact for our clients.Conducting desk based and on-site risk assessments and safety training via client interface (including safety/prevention program review, site observations of job hazards and client interviews) with a focus on operational improvement and financial exposure mitigation. Site work is completed in industrial environments including manufacturing, warehousing/distribution, service operations, construction, healthcare, and retail.Developing and implementing risk management and injury prevention strategies (long and short term) and supporting, as well as fulfilling some portions of the tactical plans to control risk related costs. Preparing Statements of Work and/or proposals articulating service plans and deliverable work productUsing project management skills to assure goals and objectives are appropriate and aligned with services delivered to exceed client expectations.Delivering onsite visit and project reports summarizing services delivered and measurable results achieved.Working collaboratively with teams including 1.) casualty claims staff to execute initiatives for post-accident mitigation strategies and 2.) insurance carrier representatives where appropriate. Teams are virtual in many cases.Supporting business development to Aon offices by rapidly gaining an understanding of client needs, Casualty Risk Control service offerings; and articulating conceptual strategies and Aon resources to appropriately control operational accident exposures and costs.Assisting clients in achieving compliance with regulatory programs including OSHA, DOT, etc.Areas of focus include: Workers’ Compensation/Occupational Safety, Ergonomics, Fleet/Driver Safety, General and Product LiabilitySkills And Experience That Will Lead To SuccessFive or more years in safety/risk management in insurance consultation or industry. Technical skills in addressing occupational safety, fleet controls and general liability exposures and potential from an operational standpoint including safety/ergonomic program development, training, and assessment processesProficiency in computer applications and data management tools (e.g., Microsoft Office applications)Project management experience (budget responsibilities, quality, timeliness, specific metrics, progress tracking, etc.) with understanding and application of pre and post loss management consulting, including occupational and fleet safety experience (regulated and non- regulated)Ability to interpret a variety of data (loss information, statistics, etc.) to create client-facing, complementary strategic and tactical improvement plansCapacity to evaluate complex circumstances and adapt as situations evolveCapacity to work effectively on multiple tasks at any given time with minimal supervision and meet expected deadlinesProvide critique(s) directly (in person) or in writing to improve clients’ risk profileDemonstration of exceptional writing and presentation skillsExperience in articulating project scope, value proposition and return on investment for business development related tasks; Communication is both internally and to clientsMultiple industry experience – manufacturing, healthcare, hospitality, service and/or wholesale and distributionProfessional certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional, Certified Professional Ergonomist) a plusTravel: Approximately 35% overnightPhysical Requirements: In addition to the technical skill set for the position, the employee must be able to:Safely operate a motor vehicleTravel by commercial air and other public transportation as neededAscend and descend stairsLift and carry up to 30 pounds for short durationsStand and walk for extended periods of time, sometimes including:Industrial or construction settings, indoors and out, including broken or uneven ground, inclining and declining slopesDirty or dusty environmentsNoisy, hot, or cold environmentsDon and wear basic Personal Protective Equipment required in the work environment Education: Bachelor of Science/Art or Master Level in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related technical majorFor positions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction record in accordance with local Fair Chance ordinances.Aon is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms for this position. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
