RWE Americas, LLCTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentFunctional area: Operations & Maintenance; Power PlantsRemuneration: Non-ExemptThe Solar Farm Technician II is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance across all scopes of an operating power plant. This includes civil, mechanical, and electrical inspection and repair, as well as instrumentation and control (I&C). The role also involves operational duties such as monitoring, controlling, and trending, ensuring proactive work to maximize productivity and generation with a focus on safety and maximizing generation, and ensuring proactive work is prioritized and completed.Role Responsibilities:Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical and mechanical equipmentEnsure that all tasks are performed safely and by site operating proceduresComplete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA's, Permit to Work, and job-specific documentation that is required to conduct inspection, maintenance, and repairs in a safe mannerProactively look for improvement opportunities in job-appropriate processes and proceduresPerform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirementsPerform balance of plant and switchyard work as requiredMonitor the activities of maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions where appropriatePerform electrical testing as necessary, including insulation and thermal testingDocument all work and generate reports as necessaryUse Microsoft Office for communication, presentation, and documentationUse computer software in support of maintenance and troubleshootingIdentify gaps in safety standards and safety risks in the environmentAt times, may assist with BOP activitiesRespond quickly to emergencies or situations requiring immediate troubleshooting and corrective actionsEnsure site access, site HSE, security, deliveries, and inspections are performed by site protocolsInterface with any 3rd party contractors working at our facilitiesAvailable to respond to nontraditional operating hours for operations, maintenance, and emergent issues, including emergent abnormal operating conditions, execution of maintenance, tracking work orders, and resolution of O&M issuesOperate mobile equipment, including mowers, forklifts, tractors, excavators, and motor vehiclesProfessionally represent the company with contractor and vendor relations, as well as during partnership opportunities within the communityAll other duties as assignedJob Requirements and Experiences:High School diploma or equivalent requiredAn Associate degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited US school other than correspondence or internet is preferredCurrent Nevada State PV Installers licenseNABCEP Certification or Electrical License preferredAn unrestricted driver's license in good standing is requiredMinimum 2 years' work experience as a maintenance electrician (commercial or industrial), or 4 years of experience as a multi-craft maintenance technician performing electrical work on operating equipment; or 2 years' experience in operations and maintenance of power generation, transmission, or distributionExperience in solar operations and maintenance is a plusSkilled in power plant operations, electrical and mechanical equipment maintenance, as well as substation maintenanceMust be competent in power plant safety protocolsMust be competent in electrical safetyMust be competent in understanding the NECKnowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power toolsKnowledge of environmental and safety policies and proceduresAbility to work within tight deadlines and evolving schedulesAbility and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned, including supporting other sitesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamRoutine operation of a computer/tablet and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printerStrong communication skills, both written and verbalFlexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as requiredComplete required training in a satisfactory manner and timeframeFirst aid/CPR/AEDOSHA CertifiedShift workResponds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachable and trainableAdaptive to new technologies and methodsAbility to take ownership of responsibilities and look beyond the work task concerning discovering new opportunities for corrective workPhysical Requirements:This position is a field-based role that involves some travel and visits to other RWE Americas offices and field locationsAbility to work in extreme weather conditionsAbility to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the work dayAbility to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to and over 50 lbs.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations.
