Position Title: Phlebotomist Work Location: 3895 Johns Creek Pkwy, Suwanee, GA 30024 (IOP - Primary Care)Assignment Duration: 3-Month Work Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PMPreferred language skills: Korean, Mandarin, or VietnameseRequired vaccinations: MMR, Varicella, TB, Hep B (declinable), color vision requiredPosition SummaryThe Phlebotomist is responsible for performing blood draws and specimen collection while supporting daily lab operations, troubleshooting issues, assisting with training, and recommending workflow improvements.Background & ContextThis is a new opening within a Primary Care IOP setting. There is potential for extension or full-time conversion based on performance.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, and processingCollect and store specimens per established protocolsClearly explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures to patientsDemonstrate proficiency with straight needles and butterfly needlesReview and understand physician orders and lab requisitionsMatch requisition forms with specimen tubes accuratelyLabel, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as requiredVerify test requisitions and ensure 100% accuracyPackage specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrityStore specimens at appropriate temperaturesFollow OSHA and DEP regulationsAttend required training sessionsHandle incoming calls and respond to lab-related inquiriesPerform phlebotomy duties independently in a Primary Care IOP settingQualifications & ExperienceValid Phlebotomy Certification (if required by state)Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting2-4 years of overall experience preferredHigh School Diploma or GEDProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteSkills:Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills (including difficult draws)Ability to work independentlyCustomer service and patient interaction skillsFlexibility and adaptabilityWorking Conditions & Physical DemandsMajority of shift spent standing (1-hour lunch break)Medium-sized Primary Care IOP settingSole Phlebotomist onsiteInitial 2-week training at: 10700 Medlock Bridge Rd, Suite 207, Johns Creek, GA 30097Additional InformationFull-time: 40 hours/weekPatient population: Adults & Geriatrics (frequent hard sticks)Daily volume: To be determined (new site)
