Python DeveloperLocation: Jersey City, NJPay: $70-72/hr US Citizens/GC Holders Only; No Visa SponsorshipCandidates must be local to the NJ Area; No RelocationNo c2c/3rd partiesResponsibilities:Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable Python applications to automate complex operational workflows and replace legacy or manual processesPartner directly with business teams to analyze manual, fragmented processes and translate them into automated, end-to-end technical solutionsIntegrate diverse risk metrics and data pipelines into unified Limit Reporting systems to support real-time monitoring and controlImplement robust error-handling, logging, and data-validation mechanisms to reduce operational risk and strengthen internal control frameworksBuild clean, well-documented, and reusable code bases that connect disparate data sources and internal applications seamlesslyProvide technical guidance, ongoing support, and continuous improvement for existing risk applications and data toolsQualifications:Advanced proficiency in Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, FastAPI/Flask/Django, SQLAlchemy, or modern async frameworks)Strong hands-on experience working with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and processing/transforming complex financial datasetsExperience building and consuming RESTful APIs to integrate interconnected applications and platformsProficiency with Git, automated testing (e.g., pytest), and continuous integration/deployment practicesBasic to intermediate understanding of risk metrics (Market, Credit, or Operational Risk) and Limit Reporting concepts is strongly preferredAbility to decompose messy, manual workflows into clear, automated digital pipelinesStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical risk managers and translate business requirements into technical specs
