Professional Dog Groomer

Job Summary We are seeking an individual with a strong love for animals and a great personality. If you have a heart and passion for animals this is the job for you. This position requires an active person with multi-tasking skills, a high energy level because a lot of time will be spent on your feet and someone who is literally not afraid to get their hands dirty! This person will ensure the safety and security of pets, customers, associates and visitors. You must ensure the proper care of all pets in our care. You must be able to work flexible schedules and hours- we are open 7 days a week, weekends, some night shifts and certain holidays are needed. General Accountabilities Professional appearance; clean attire, friendly, mature and professional demeanor Being PUNCTUAL is a MUST Excellent communication skills with customers as well as fellow employees Multi-tasking abilities is a must and must be able to prioritize STRONG organizational skills At least 2+ years of professional grooming experience in a professional business required Fast learner with lots of initiative A dynamic, friendly, high energy and motivated individual Must keep a clean, safe work environment Most of all you must be an animal lover! Must be able to groom 5-8 dogs a day Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following, however other duties may be assigned. Greet and welcome customers and pets in a friendly and professional manner Pre and post-consultations with customers are required to discuss hot spots, cuts etc. No animal may leave the premises without consulting owners and/or customers about any concerns, knicks, moles etc. Groomer must be very knowledgeable of a wide variety of breeds and breed cuts, hand scissoring, and other grooming techniques Groomer will be responsible for grooming dogs from start to finish Regularly demonstrate sincere concern for the care, attitudes and behaviors of pets and the relationship they have with their parents. NO ROUGH HANDLING OF ANY ANIMAL WILL BE TOLERATED AND/OR LEAVING A DOG UNATTENDED ON GROOMING TABLE OR IN TUB AT ANY TIME Must acclimate quickly to the products used at Bark! Bark! and inform customers of specialty product needs such as deep conditioner, flea shampoos etc… Always listen to our guests parents request, AT NO TIME MAY A GROOMER USE THEIR OWN DISCRETION TO GROOM A DOG WITH A DIFFERING STYLE THEN ADVISED Must use proper animal restraint Maintain safe work area for both pet and groomers You must pick up bowel/urine or vomit as soon as you see it to ensure cleanness and minimize diseases and smell Responsible for providing high quality customer service and for effectively communicating bark! bark!’s policies and procedures to the public, acting on the principle that the customer comes first! Keep a safe environment during clipping, drying, bathing and all grooming Responsible for following approved procedures and policies Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, management and the public at all times Ensure report cards are filled out appropriately and accurately if there is an incident or any other relevant issues we need to communicate to the pet parent Job Qualifications 2+ Years experience as a professional dog groomer Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $23.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) Health insurance Paid time off Schedule: 8 hour shift Evenings as needed Every weekend Monday to Friday Experience: professional grooming: 2 years (Required) Shift availability: Day Shift (Preferred) Work Location: In person
