Our platform connects customer data, email, text messaging, and automation so businesses can build stronger customer relationships and grow revenue. We’re building toward a future where operators can describe what they want to accomplish and work with AI to make it happen—from identifying customers who haven’t returned to creating campaigns, answering guest questions, and understanding which efforts drive results.About the roleWe’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help build the AI capabilities and underlying services that power that experience. You’ll work on practical problems at the intersection of AI, customer data, and automation: giving agents the right business context, connecting them to tools that perform real actions, and making those actions reliable, permission-aware, and measurable. This role has a strong backend focus, with opportunities to own features across APIs, agent execution, data integrations, and the product experience. What you’ll work onAI agents and orchestration: Build systems that translate user requests into coordinated steps across customer data, campaigns, automations, messaging, and analytics.Tools that take action: Develop APIs and agent tools for searching contacts, drafting campaigns, creating workflows, and responding to customer conversations—with appropriate permissions, previews, and approvals.Context and memory: Help agents use business policies, brand voice, customer history, and conversation context to produce relevant, grounded results.Proactive recommendations: Build capabilities that identify retention opportunities, recommend next steps, and connect actions to business outcomes.Reliable execution: Design services that handle asynchronous work, retries, interruptions, and failures without losing progress or duplicating actions.AI quality and observability: Evaluate agent behavior, investigate failures, and improve accuracy, latency, and cost using traces, feedback, and real usage.Engineering ownership: Shape architecture, review code, mentor teammates, and carry features from an initial idea through production support. What you bringExperience owning meaningful parts of a production SaaS product, including technical design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing reliability.Strong backend engineering skills in TypeScript/JavaScript and Node.js, or substantial experience in a comparable stack.Hands-on experience building with LLMs, including capabilities such as tool calling, structured outputs, retrieval, or multi-step workflows.Sound judgment about where AI adds value, where deterministic logic belongs, and when a person should review an action.Experience with APIs, databases, third-party integrations, and asynchronous or event-driven systems. An understanding of authentication, authorization, and protecting customer data in a multi-tenant application. The ability to turn an ambiguous product problem into a practical implementation and explain the tradeoffs clearly.Comfort using AI development tools while taking responsibility for the correctness, maintainability, and security of the code you ship.Clear communication and the ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team.Helpful experienceAgent orchestration, MCP, evaluation frameworks, or human approval workflows.Customer segmentation, lifecycle marketing, messaging platforms, or revenue attribution.React, Next.js, or conversational interfaces with streaming responses.AWS, production monitoring, and distributed systems. Our technologyOur stack includes TypeScript/JavaScript, Node.js, React/Next.js, Vue, AWS, and the Vercel AI SDK. You’ll work across an established SaaS platform and newer AI services. Experience with every tool isn’t required; strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to learn matter more. Why this roleYou’ll help shape how AI works inside a product businesses use to engage their customers every day. The work spans agent behavior, execution infrastructure, and customer experience—with a direct connection between what you build and the results our customers achieve.
