JOB DESCRIPTION
We are on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Computer Network Support Specialist to join our IT support team. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for maintaining and troubleshooting our organization's computer networks and infrastructure. RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage computer hardware, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals, ensuring they operate smoothly and securely.
Configure and maintain network devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, and servers to safeguard our infrastructure.
Assist with server administration tasks involving Windows Server environments and Microsoft Windows Server management tools.
Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing network systems such as local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), cloud networks, servers, and other data communications networks.
Performs network maintenance to ensure networks operate correctly with minimal interruption.
Ability to back up network data to prevent loss of information.
Configures security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
Implements security measures for computer or information systems.
Analyze and report computer network security breaches or attempted breaches.
Identifies the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment.
Uses computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enters data, or process information.
Provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Resolves computer network problems and documents network support activities.
Keeps up to date with technical advances and applies new knowledge to the position.
Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintains them over time.
Knowledgeable of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
Must use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
4-5 years of work-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
3 years of on-the-job training and/or vocational training.
Proven experience in IT support or help desk roles with a focus on computer networking and system administration.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, DHCP configuration, and TCP troubleshooting techniques is highly desirable.
Familiarity with network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, and network segmentation best practices.
Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
Ability to analyze complex problems quickly and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
SKILLS
Ability to use computers and computer systems to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
Effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
Work on his/her own with normal supervision. Prevents downtime by finding tasks in between assigned jobs.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong understanding of IT processes and basic IT principles.
Ability to manage multiple functions and meet deadlines.
Able to interact professionally with customers and employees.
Pay Range: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour plus benefits.
