Accountant

Position OverviewWe are looking for a pro-active business professional to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for portions of the monthly close process, balance sheet reconciliations, general accounting, and reporting functions, and actively managing and fulfilling cross functional team requests. This position will report to the Director of Finance and work closely with the Accounting Manager on policies, practices, and reporting for the function.Responsibilities Include Month end expense reconciliation; including credit cards, intercompany transactions, prepaid ledger account and inventory adjustments. Responsible for monthly expense allocations across assigned business units. Handle all vendor ACH set-up and verification. Responsible for customer drop ship processing. Assist with AP check runs for assigned business units. Ensuring compliance with company internal controls and policies. Participation in annual budget process. Assist with General month-end close processing / reporting. Cross train and assist as backup for department accounting functions, AP, AR and Billing. Proactive facilitation of process improvements and problem solving. Ad hoc reporting and analysis and other duties as assigned Ability to be effective, efficient functioning in fast paced environment Keep business related issues confidential. Responsible for timely responses and utilization of the communication tools available, such as voice mail, e-mail, etc. and any future communication tools adopted by BradyPLUS. Attends, participates and arrives on time to meetings when scheduled; arrive on time to work and be ready to work/adhere to the work schedule, other duties as may be assigned. Complete all OSHA/HR training within the required timelines. The Ideal Candidate Will Have 3-5 years of experience in progressively advancing accounting roles. BS Degree in Accounting and CPA designation preferred. Experience in distributing environment. Experience working for a public accounting firm a plus. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, etc. Knowledge and experience in current Windows software; Microsoft Office and general data entry. Advance skills in Excel required. Experience in Sage, Hyperion/One Stream, Concur, inventory pricing, sales figures, margins, etc. System integration experience a plus.
