Job Title: EHS CoordinatorLocation: Winsted, CT.Duration: Direct Hire – OnsiteSalary: $75-80K DOE plus Excellent BenefitsReporting directly to site leadership, the EHS Coordinator is responsible for supporting and driving Environmental, Health, and Safety initiatives across the Winsted, CT manufacturing facility.This position plays a key role in maintaining compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations while promoting a strong safety culture throughout operations. The EHS Coordinator will partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Facilities, and Human Resources to ensure safe working conditions, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of EHS programs.The position has day-to-day responsibility for, but is not limited to:• Environmental Health & Safety Compliance• OSHA and Regulatory Compliance• Safety Training & Awareness• Incident Investigation & Reporting• Safety Audits & Inspections• Hazard Identification & Risk Reduction• PPE Programs• Environmental Reporting & Documentation• Workers Compensation Coordination• Emergency Response Planning• Safety Metrics & Reporting• Continuous Improvement InitiativesThe position also partners closely with:• Manufacturing• Engineering• Quality• Facilities & Maintenance• Human Resources• Operations Leadership• External Regulatory AgenciesThe EHS Coordinator is responsible for helping maintain a safe and compliant workplace while supporting operational efficiency and employee engagement.This position will be a key contributor to the site's overall operational and safety performance.Essential Functions• Support and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company standards.• Conduct routine safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments throughout the facility.• Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; develop corrective and preventive actions.• Coordinate and deliver employee safety training programs, including onboarding and recurring compliance training.• Assist in maintaining accurate EHS documentation, records, and reporting systems.• Monitor compliance with PPE requirements and safe work practices.• Support environmental compliance initiatives related to waste handling, hazardous materials, and regulatory reporting.• Partner with operations teams to identify and implement continuous safety improvements.• Participate in emergency response planning and safety committee activities.• Track and report safety KPIs, trends, and improvement opportunities to leadership.• Assist with workers compensation cases and return-to-work coordination as needed.• Support implementation of EHS-related projects, procedures, and process improvements.• Perform additional duties as assigned.Additional ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental & Safety Compliance• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local EHS regulations.• Maintain OSHA logs and required compliance documentation.• Support internal and external EHS audits and inspections.• Assist with environmental permitting and reporting requirements.Manufacturing & Operations Support• Work closely with Manufacturing and Facilities teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.• Support ergonomic evaluations and process safety improvements.• Promote a proactive safety culture throughout all departments.Training & Employee Engagement• Coordinate employee safety training programs and maintain training records.• Assist in developing safety awareness initiatives and employee engagement activities.• Reinforce company safety policies and procedures consistently across the facility.Continuous Improvement• Support root cause investigations and corrective action implementation.• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing incidents and improving workplace safety.• Assist leadership with development and execution of site safety goals and initiatives.Position RequirementsEducation• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred• Equivalent professional experience will be consideredWork Experience• Minimum 2-5 years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and environmental compliance requirements• Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations• Strong understanding of workplace safety programs and risk reduction methodologies• Experience with safety training coordination and compliance documentation• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and reporting tools• Experience with ISO standards or manufacturing quality systems is a plus• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills• Ability to work cross-functionally within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
