Senior Product Manager, Python and Java Developer Experiences

Overview As a Senior Product Manager, you will shape Python and Java developer workflows within GitHub Copilot to empower AI-enhanced software creation. You translate customer signals into a concrete strategy and measurable outcomes for developer tools. You’ll prototype and experiment to validate decisions, collaborating across engineering, design, and advocacy. You join a mission-driven team focused on improving developer experiences and outcomes at scale. This role offers impact at the intersection of language tooling, AI-assisted development, and community-driven adoption. ResponsibilitiesDefine and own the strategy and roadmaps for Python and Java developer tools and language-specific Copilot workflowsConduct market and user research to identify opportunities and guide technical decisions with engineeringBalance end-to-end experiences, make tradeoffs, and focus on opportunities delivering customer valueCollaborate across disciplines to deliver cohesive developer experiences and align with stakeholdersMaintain close customer engagement through builds, feedback channels, and community interactionsValidate direction with early adopters and partners, coordinating with advocacy for demos and contentEstablish success metrics, design experiments, and iterate on developer workflows based on data Key requirementsBachelor's Degree and 5+ years in product management or software development OR equivalent experienceProven PM experience, preferably with Python or Java development and multi-language depthExperience leading initiatives from concept to launch with measurable outcomesHands-on with AI-assisted developer tools and GitHub Copilot experiencesAbility to engage in technical product discussions and code-related activitiesstrong collaboration across cross-functional teamscustomer empathy and engagement with communitiesanalytical mindset combining qualitative and quantitative insightsPythonJavaGitHub Copilot
