ELECTRICIAN JOURNEYMAN LICENSED
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide skilled electrical expertise to subordinates and their crews in all phases of construction.Coordinate work schedules in conjunction with the foremanPlan layout; install and repair wiring and electrical fixtures such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, and fuse boxesInspect wiring and fixtures for conformance to company specifications and local electrical codes.Install ground leads and connect power cables to equipment such as motorsPerform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit, and moving and lifting heavy objectsAdhere to production schedules and work hour requirements for completion of job assignments.Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders on assigned projectsAnalyze and resolve work problems or assist co-workers in solving work problemsTest electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes to ensure compatibility and safety of systemDiagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problemInspect material for quality before installationConfer with supervisors to coordinate work activitiesEnsure parts and materials are ordered, received, inventoried, and stored appropriatelyEnsure proper transfer of equipment and material between job locationsOperate a variety of hand and power tools and shop machinery in conjunction with proper trainingOperate company vehicles, forklifts, and aerial lifts in conjunction with proper certification.Initiate or suggest ideas to achieve work goalsProvide work direction and guidance to employees to improve their skillsEnsure company policies and procedures are followedPerform daily tasks in a safe manner in accordance with company policiesDemonstrate thorough familiarity with current client, company, and OSHA safetyEnsure all employees follow proper safety procedures and policiesInform Safety Managers and Superintendents/Supervisors of all safety violations immediatelyResponsible for all other duties as assignedOther job duties as assignedEmployee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day), weekends, and holidays.
