Microsoft Copilot Studio / AI Engineer Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week) Duration: Contract to Hire Work Authorization: Must be able to convert to full-time without requiring future sponsorship. OverviewClient is seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Copilot Studio / AI Engineer to help drive enterprise AI initiatives and intelligent automation solutions. This role will focus on designing, developing, and deploying AI agents, copilots, and workflow automation solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, and Azure AI technologies.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building enterprise Copilot solutions, integrating AI platforms with business systems, and leveraging Microsoft Graph and Azure AI services to create impactful business outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop AI agents, copilots, custom connectors, and automated workflows using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Automate.Integrate AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs, Microsoft Graph, and various internal/external data sources.Build intelligent solutions leveraging Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, AI Builder, and related Microsoft AI technologies.Develop and maintain custom connectors, plugins, prompts, and reusable AI components.Establish and enforce AI governance practices, including responsible AI usage, security, compliance, and lifecycle management.Partner with business stakeholders to identify AI automation opportunities and improve operational efficiency.Create prompt libraries, best practices, training materials, and technical documentation.Conduct workshops, demonstrations, and knowledge-sharing sessions for technical and business teams.Troubleshoot and optimize AI solutions to improve performance, reliability, and user adoption.Serve as a trusted advisor for enterprise AI strategy and Copilot adoption.Required QualificationsProven hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio.Strong experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including: Power AutomatePower AppsPower Platform integrationsExperience implementing solutions using: Azure OpenAIAzure AI ServicesAI BuilderMicrosoft Graph APIStrong understanding of: Generative AILarge Language Models (LLMs)Prompt EngineeringConversational AI DesignRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems and APIs.Proficiency with Python and/or PowerShell for automation and integration development.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Preferred QualificationsExperience deploying enterprise AI solutions within large organizations.Experience developing custom Microsoft Copilot plugins and connectors.Familiarity with AI governance, compliance, and security frameworks.Experience working in Microsoft Azure cloud environments.Knowledge of enterprise automation and digital transformation initiatives.Experience leading workshops, training sessions, and AI adoption programs.Ideal CandidateLocal to the Chicago area and able to work onsite 3 days per week.Has delivered production-ready Copilot Studio solutions.Comfortable engaging both business and technical stakeholders.Interested in converting to a long-term full-time opportunity with ClientPassionate about leveraging AI to improve productivity, automation, and user experience
