This role will support a small legal team with core activities including drafting legal disclosures, managing cases and clients, legal research, and case management. The associate role will also support case communications and advocacy work as well as organizational legal needs. Whistleblower Aid’s work is highly sensitive and this position requires absolute discretion and professionalism.This is a full time, at will, employee position. This role is hybrid, serving our office in Washington, DC with a minimum two days in office per week.Responsibilities:Assists in drafting and editing legal documents including: correspondence, disclosures, affidavits and other filingsResearch statutes, legislation, regulations, case law, and other legal resources and prepare written analysisDevelops and maintains client relationships, including to prepare evidence, declarations, and other materials with clientsReview evidence and case documentation and prepare written analysis, chronologies, summaries, and digestsManage client case files, including in e-discovery programs, as needed.Design and execute advocacy and communications strategy in service of cases and clientLead and support other organizational needs, including producing contracts, legal risk assessment, thought leadership, and other projectsOther duties as assignedJob requirements:3+ years of legal experienceJ.D. and at least one state bar membershipExcellent legal research and writing skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to multitask, take initiative, work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced small team environmentExcellent interpersonal skills, including client relationship building and empathyExcellent organizational skills with high attention to detailAdvanced analytical skills including issue spotting and problem solvingCompetency with legal citation i.e. BluebookAbility to maintain confidentiality, trust, and exercise discretionMission driven, with an interest in justice, resilient democracy, and corporate accountabilityExperience working with DOJ, an OIG, an agency general counsel’s office, a federal agency with investigative or civil enforcement authority, or congressional investigations team a plusTo Apply:Email us at hiring@whistlebloweraid.orgPlease include with your application:Resume/CVList of three referencesLegal writing sample
