Bore machine operator

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and skilled Bore Machine Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy-duty bore machines used for underground drilling and construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure precise, efficient, and safe installation of utilities, pipelines, and other infrastructure components. Responsibilities Operate bore machines and horizontal drilling equipment with precision to meet project specifications. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other heavy equipment operators to coordinate activities. Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA regulations. Assist with the setup and breakdown of drilling sites, including excavation support using excavators, loaders, dozers, and backhoes. Monitor drilling progress, adjust equipment as needed, and troubleshoot technical issues promptly. Maintain detailed records of machine operation, project progress, and safety inspections. Qualifications Proven experience operating bore machines or horizontal drilling equipment in construction or utility installation projects. Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, and Caterpillar machinery. Valid driver’s license Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and OSHA standards. Ability to read technical manuals and interpret project plans accurately. Construction site experience involving excavation, paving, or underground utilities is highly desirable. Knowledge of construction equipment such as graders and horizontal drill rigs enhances your effectiveness on the job. The horizontal direction drill we use is a Vermeer 10x15, we strongly prefer someone with experience on this platform. We also have two stick bore machines any experience on this are a plus as well.
