Provide support to Crossroads Preparatory Academy (CPA) in the areas of attendance, student records requests, scheduling, transcripts, and general reporting. Have a thorough knowledge of department services and functions as well as knowledge of FERPA governing the maintenance and processing of student records.All applicants must apply on line by submitting a resume and cover letter at http://www.crossroadsschoolskc.org/careers.Position Responsibilities:Provide registrar services including but not limited to scheduling, tracking student credits, transcripts, and state compliance reporting.Create individual student schedules and manage master scheduleManage student transcripts ensuring accuracy and clarity in communication including transcript requests, sending transcripts, transcript audits, and flagging concernsSupport attendance management through attendance and truancy tracking and flagging concernsOversee diploma verifications and student enrollment verification requests.Support records requests to include but not limited to, attendance records, immunization records, discipline, grades, courses/credits, and transfer information.Process registrations/admissions, schedule changes, course withdrawals, complete withdrawals, independent studies, and internships. Check registration screens for re-admission clearance, probation, immunization, closed classes, repeated classes, etc.Create and generate student correspondence concerning events, including but not limited to, enrollment verifications and conferral letters.Understand the school's systems and general office technologiesComplete required reports, maintain schedules, prepare documents, and inform administration of observed trends and possible upcoming issues.Demonstrate gains in program performanceOrganize and maintain file systems.Participate in meetings, training and professional developmentMeet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating, etc.Act in a professional and ethical manner at all times and comply with school policies, procedures, and expectations.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.Skills and Qualifications:Associate's Degree required or equivalent experience;Minimum two years related work experience, preferably in K-12 educationExcellent written and verbal communication skills;Student service oriented;Ability to meet established deadlinesExcellent problem solving skills necessaryAbility to pay close attention to details while processing and tracking informationFlexibility in work hours. Generally work hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm, Monday - FridayEffective in technology use of student information systems, Google Apps, Microsoft Excel, student application and student information platforms-- Specifically Infinite CampusPerform special projects or other related duties as assigned.Desire to continue professional developmentExcellent organization skills and an ability to coordinate multiple tasks and activitiesOutstanding verbal and written communication skills and an ability to keep multiple stakeholder groups, including admin parents, teachers, staff, informed of critical issues, activities and schedules.An ability and enthusiasm for promoting the school and its mission to a broad and diverse group of people.Must pass an extensive background check.Key Working Relationships in Addition to Supervisor:Teachers, Students, Parents, Volunteers, Office Staff, Support Staff, Assistant Principals, Principals, District Leadership Team, Central Office TeamBoth federal and state law requires all public school personnel to submit to and pass a criminal background check prior to employment by the school.
