Quality Control Technician

The Quality Control Technician inspects work performed by client employees, internal employees, or client subcontractors. Work is inspected for process and specification compliance against company/client guidelines. (This purpose is meant to be a guide. Duties may vary dependent upon client.)Essential Position Functions:Inspect assigned work locations for compliance with client or company specifications and guidelinesInspections may include but are not limited to work safety, installation, and troubleshooting complianceUse appropriate testing equipment based upon client specificationsAssist in preparing and developing inspection instructions and proceduresDevelop and create project specific checklists and standardsRecord and document inspection results and findings in applicable data sheets and formsComplete and submit inspection documentation to the appropriate supervisory personnelEnsure completion of inspections in a timely manner and track/report activities and metricsDrive safely to work sites and comply with all company/client safety standardsFollow company/client standards by using related technical documentationDeliver feedback and supplemental training to employees/contractors as requiredOther duties assignedAdditional Expectations: Construction work is project-driven and may vary in availability based on client demand and workload. When role-specific assignments are not available, employees may be required to perform other related duties within the construction or telecommunications field. These duties may include, but are not limited to, ground support, site preparation, equipment maintenance, warehouse support, or assisting with other company projects as assignedEducation and/or Experience:High School diploma or GED preferred2 or more years of relevant inspection experience from the telecommunications, construction, or utilities industries. Equivalent, applicable experience in lower level role may be substitutedMust be proficient with a Windows and Android operating systems (proficiency with a tablet is preferred)Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications (emphasis on Excel)Must be able to read blueprints and other technical documentationMust be able to operate testing equipment relevant to the inspections such as an OTDRExperience with a major MSO or Telecom Operator is preferredStrong analytical and problem-solving ability requiredAbility to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely mannerAble to effectively handle multiple priorities with a strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skillsMust be able to work alone, and with a teamMust be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background checkPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job.
