The NTPD team is a dynamic group of engineers and technicians with a wide range of backgrounds, several of them holding PhD and Masters Degrees. We are looking for a talented and energetic candidate who can thrive in a team environment and support NTPD projects for developing and delivering innovative products for energy recovery applications.The position requires a talented and motivated engineering intern with expertise in machine design, FEA, instrumentation and experimental validation of turbo machines and other high-pressure fluid equipment. Expertise in use of CAD packages such as SolidWorks, FEA tools and documentation is required.What Will You Do?Assist in setting up and conducting testing activitiesSupport test loop design by creating P&IDs and selecting appropriate equipment and instrumentsPerform Engineering Calculations using 1-D models and FEA toolsCreate SolidWorks models of test loops and generate detailed engineering drawingsAssist in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)Document testing activities maintain comprehensive recordsCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of testing and validation processesFollow safety and laboratory protocols during all testing activitiesPerform other duties and contribute to special projects as assignedWhat You Bring to the Table:Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited University with concentration in machine design is requiredExperience with commercial CAD packages such as SolidWorks to make engineering drawings, GD&T is requiredHands on experience with assembly, testing and experimentation is required and experience with sensors/transducers (to measure pressure, temperature, flow rate, vibration, position, pressure pulsations, noise etc.), controls/data acquisition, data collection languages (e.g. LabVIEW) is highly desirableExperience with mechanical design, testing and selection of rotodynamic & reciprocating fluid machines such as compressors, pumps, turbines etc., is highly desirableFamiliarity using commercial FEA packages like ANSYS or Solid Works Simulation, data analysis tools like MABLAB or PythonMust possess a demonstrated ability to work/lead in a team environment, under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and be goal orientedAbility to oversee and execute on assigned projects from start to completion in a highly analytical, detailed and precise mannerExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWe are an EOE/AA employer committed to workforce diversity.No recruiters or phone calls.
