A global leader in electronic interconnect solutions is seeking a Plating Process Development Engineer for its advanced technology division in New Albany, Indiana. This role, you will support the research, development, and integration of advanced plating and coating technologies used across a high-performing product portfolio. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on material innovation, electrochemical deposition methods, and process improvements for manufacturing. This opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about surface coating technologies who wants to make a meaningful global impact in a supportive, collaborative environment.Key Responsibilities:As a Plating Process Development Engineer, you will research electrochemical deposition techniques and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on material innovation. You will design experiments for advanced surface coatings and use analytical tools to evaluate results. You will help integrate new plating technologies into high-volume production processes. You will maintain accurate documentation and follow strict safety protocols in a chemical laboratory environment. Your problem-solving skills will support consistent quality throughout product development. Design and conduct experiments focused on emerging materials, electrochemical deposition, and advanced manufacturing methods.Characterize deposited microstructures using advanced analytical techniques and ensure accurate data analysis.Manage laboratory projects and collaborate with Materials Innovation and Plating Process Engineering teams.Support the development, testing, qualification, and production integration of new plating technologies.Maintain safety-compliant documentation and provide technical support for laboratory equipment and processes.Key Requirements:The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in advanced surface coating processes and analytical instrumentation. You should have a background in developing or improving electrochemical deposition methods in industrial or academic settings. Experience introducing new materials or technologies into production, especially reel-to-reel or strip line plating systems, is important. Strong communication skills and attention to safety are essential when working with teams and handling chemicals. Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training will support your ability to drive process improvements. Bring 10+ years of experience in electro-plating, electrolytic plating, or similar surface coating processes in industrial or research settings.Use SEM, x-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, and chemical spectroscopy tools to characterize microstructures and analyze results.Apply hands-on experience with reel-to-reel or strip line plating systems and support new plating technology qualification.Work safely in chemical environments while communicating clearly, collaborating effectively, and adapting to changing project needs.Hold a bachelor's degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience; Lean, SPC, or Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.What sets this company apart:This global leader in electronic interconnect solutions is recognized for its focus on innovation, client satisfaction, and advanced technology.
