Team members join a growth-oriented organization with a start-up mindset, focused on innovation, collaboration, and meaningful student outcomes.Role Description The Lead Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Minneapolis, MN, responsible for delivering engaging academic content and fostering a supportive learning environment for pre-college and gifted students. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and teaching lessons, facilitating discussions and activities, and adapting instructional methods to meet diverse learning needs. The Lead Instructor oversees classroom management, monitors student progress, and provides constructive feedback to promote academic and personal development. This role collaborates with program staff to align curriculum with Summer Discovery standards, supports program events, and ensures that all activities adhere to safety and quality guidelines. The Lead Instructor also communicates with families and administrators as needed to provide updates on student performance and program experiences.QualificationsStrong instructional and classroom management skills, including experience planning lessons, delivering engaging instruction, and supporting diverse learners.Demonstrated ability to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, curiosity, and growth.Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and colleagues in a collaborative academic setting.Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple classes, program activities, and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment.Experience teaching or mentoring children or teens, ideally in pre-college, enrichment, or gifted education programs.Bachelor’s degree in education, a related academic field, or equivalent experience; advanced degree or teaching certification is a plus.Commitment to student safety, program integrity, and adherence to institutional policies and best practices.Theories of Time Travel: Spacetime Physics & WormholesCornell UniversityOn Campus Orientation: July 11- Time TBDClasses Begin: Monday July 13. Classes End: Friday, July 31Compensation is based on highest degree earned. Instructors are compensated for 3 hours of instruction per class day for Cornell's 14- day program.
