Completion of a registered apprenticeship is desired.10 years of experience in commercial building trades in such areas as general carpentry, rough carpentry, door installation, and interior systems. Experienced in all commercial and federal building construction with safety and code compliance.SKILLS/ABILITIESBasic computer skills, Outlook, Teams, and Timesheet entry.Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, layouts, and construction documents and plans.Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and layout tools.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work effectively and amicably with co-workers, and other people (Supervisor, Subordinates, Supplies, Customers).Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to hear and speak, to communicate in person and over the telephone and/or radio.Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.Possess basic problem-solving and math skillsAttention to detail and a commitment to quality.Essential Job FunctionsPerform skilled carpentry work in the construction, repair, and maintenance of structures and fixtures in accordance with contract requirements.Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures.Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install wood and other materials (e.g., drywall, plywood, laminates, light-gauge metal framing). Install and repair doors, windows, framing, cabinetry, siding, flooring, and interior/exterior trim.Construct and repair frameworks, partitions, and structural components as required.Perform demolition and removal of damaged or obsolete materials in preparation for repairs or new construction.Other Duties as assignedPHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periodsMust be able to bend, stoop, climb, reach, stretch, kneel, and squat.Must be able to perform repetitive tasks or motions for prolonged periods.Must be able to carry up to 50 pounds at a time and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a timeMust be able to ascend or descend ladders and/or traverse scaffolding.Must have sufficient physical strength, ability to lift heavy materials, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina to complete various tasks.Must be able to work in personal protective clothing and equipment, such as a fall protection harness, protective-toe footwear, gloves, a hard hat, and hearing protection.WORK ENVIRONMENTThis is an on-site position that requires work to be performed onsite at an Aleut location.This role requires work in commercial and federal job sites (school).Maintain a safe, clean site by following OSHA regulations, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and managing material handling.Working both indoors and outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions and potentially austere environments.Regularly exposed to construction environments involving equipment, electrical or mechanical hazards, elevated work areas, confined spaces, dust, noise hazards, and odors.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSMust possess a valid, unrestricted driver's license and acceptable driving record in the state of employment.Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening.Must possess own hand tools and basic power tools as required for carpentryMust be able to obtain a favorable National Agency Check (NAC) per contract.Must complete all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:OSHA 10OSHA 30CPR/First AidAleut offers the following benefits to eligible employees:Health insuranceDental/Vision insurancePaid Time OffShort- and Long-Term DisabilityLife insurance401 (k) and match
