You’re resilient, collaborative, and energized by helping the team succeed.What You Can Expect To Work On…The Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) Accelerator Team Lead will take a leading role in scaling up accelerator processes, optimizing production workflows, and supporting transfer of technical knowledge across Niowave’s MS&T and Production functions. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and operational excellence while providing mentorship and coaching to developing scientists and technicians.Leads and supports production accelerator troubleshooting and process improvement projects, ensuring technical robustness and reproducibilityCollaborates with the Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure successful implementation of Ac-225 process improvementsConducts troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production and MS&T issuesMaintains compliance with all cGMP and radiation safety proceduresSupports preparation and review of technical documentation including SOPs, batch records, process descriptions, and validation protocolsDrives continuous improvement initiatives to increase yield, purity, and process controlProvides day-to-day technical and operational guidance to MS&T team members in partnership with leadershipServes as a mentor and coach to early career scientists and technicians, fostering a positive learning cultureCoordinates onboarding, training, and competency assessments in collaboration with Training Specialists & SupervisorWhat You Need To Succeed… Bachelor degree in science/engineering field or equivalent education/experiencePhysics, nuclear engineering or related field6+ years’ experience operating in accelerator operations environment including hands-on experience with the following:Accelerator systemsRadioactive materialRoutine production environmentRegulated environment2+ years’ experience of progressive technical leadership and mentoring team membersEmbraces & models the Niowave Values of Teamwork, Courage, Integrity, and Upright ZealUnderstands how to integrate into a new team/organizationAppreciates the current state of systems and processes and exercises sound judgment in proposing and implementing improvementsUnderstands personal communication and learning styles and adapts approach to connect effectively with othersDemonstrates ability to apply logic and reasoning to solve complex problems, including identifying strengths/weaknesses, locating alternative solutions, conclusions, and approaches to problems; and making high-quality, timely decisionsShows excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsDemonstrates organizational and project management skills for self and teamsManages multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlinesProven ability to effectively convey information, engage with trainees, and facilitate discussionsDemonstrates high potential, strong interest and ability to lead and develop staff and teamsGreat to have… Bachelor degree in science/engineering field or equivalent education/experiencePhysics, nuclear engineering or related field8+ years’ experience operating in accelerator operations environmentHands-on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S)Familiarity with process transfer or scale-up between R&D and cGMP manufacturingPrior experience managing or supervising technical staffFamiliarity with process transfer or scale-up between R&D and cGMP manufacturingFormal training/application of Project ManagementOther Things To Know…Full-time positionThe company’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shiftsThis position will have regular working hours Monday - Friday within the standard operating hoursThere is an expectation of adjusting working hours outside the standard hours to meet operational requirementsThis position will have on-call shifts for performing production accelerator troubleshooting as neededNiowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the rolePlease provide a cover letter specifically describing the nature of your technical & people management expertise.
