Service Year Option - Food Farmacy Distribution Associate Driver

Job SummaryThe Food Farmacy Associate supports daily operations of a food-as-medicine program by packaging and delivering food to patients, coordinating deliveries and documentation in the EHR based on the task.Minimum QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or GED requiredMaryland resident Individuals eligible for the Maryland Service Year Program (generally ages 18–24)Experience: No prior experience required Licensure/Certification: None required Skills & Abilities:Safe driving practices and a clean driving recordTime management and ability to meet delivery schedulesStrong attention to detail and organizationAbility to lift and carry bags (typically 25–50 lbs)Basic inventory tracking and documentation skillsCustomer service and communication skillsReliability and punctualityProblem-solving skills and adaptability in the fieldFamiliarity with GPS/navigation toolsWhat You’ll Do Package and prepare food bags according to program guidelines Load, transport, and deliver food to patients safely and on schedule Verify deliveries and maintain accurate logs and documentation Communicate with patients and team members regarding deliveries, issues and delays Provide friendly, respectful service during patient interactions Support overall Food Farmacy operations, as neededWhat The Job Is Really Like Fast-paced, hands-on work most of the day A mix of packing food and being on the road for deliveries Repetitive tasks (packing bags, loading/unloading) Lifting and moving items throughout your shift Working in different weather conditions during deliveries Following a set schedule but needing flexibility for changes Independent work while driving, team-based work while packing Interacting with patients—being friendly and respectful matters Staying organized to keep deliveries accurate and on time Feeling a sense of purpose helping people access healthy foodWork Environment & Demands Combination of time spent driving in the community, packing bags in the kitchen and assisting at the Food Farmacy pick-up location Regular lifting, carrying, and loading of bags (up to 25–50 lbs) Standing, walking, and repetitive tasks for extended periods Exposure to varying weather conditions during deliveries Fast-paced environment with set schedules and occasional route changesWhat Success Looks Like Deliveries are accurate, on time, and completed safely Food bags are packed correctly and meet quality standards Inventory is organized and discrepancies are minimal Positive, respectful interactions with patients and team membersCaring for Our TeamWe offer a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees' well-being and professional growth.
