Job Description:
ABiLITY is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Supports Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will assist individuals with developmental disabilities in learning essential living skills that promote an independent lifestyle. Your support will make a significant difference in their daily lives and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Teach and assist with basic living skills to encourage independence.
Transport individuals to and from the ABiLITY Day program using an agency vehicle.
Qualifications:
Must be 25 years of age at the time of application.
Must have a high school diploma, GED, or be enrolled in a general equivalency program at time of application
Even though previous experience working with individuals with cognitive or intellectual disabilities is preferred, it is not required to apply! You will be supported through company-paid training and certifications every step of the way.
Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record.
Must possess valid auto insurance with state minimum coverage
Required to obtain a Class E Chauffeur license (ABiLITY will reimburse the fee).
Certifications:
DSPs shall have or be capable of obtaining the following certifications within a reasonable and set period of time:
Level One Medication Aide (L1MA)
First Aid/CPR/AED
Crisis Prevention
DSP training modules through our convenient online portal accessible from anywhere
DSPs shall be capable of utilizing personal protective equipment and following disease prevention protocols.
Statuses:
Full-time = employees working 30+ or more per week
