Partner with specialist engineers from major silicon companies to integrate next-generation features. Location: This is a Globally remote role What your day will look like Design and implement Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms. Partner to deliver a delightful, optimised Ubuntu experience on partner platforms. Take a holistic view of the Ubuntu experience with technical plans, testing strategy, and quality metrics. Act as technical lead on complex customer engagements spanning cloud to edge. Help customers integrate apps, SDKs, build device OS images, and optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server. Work with cutting-edge OS and application technologies in the enterprise. What we are looking for in you Loves technology and collaboration. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM or similar. Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto). Experience with open source communities and licences. Experience in C / C++. Self-disciplined and self-motivated in a globally distributed team. Additional skills that you might also bring Graphics stack experience. Good understanding of networking – TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST. Basic security best practices in IoT or server environments. Good communication, preferably public speaking. Embedded/IoT experience – board/SOC, BMC, bootloaders, firmware, OS, services. Experience with Docker/OCI containers and Kubernetes.
