Regional Sales Director - West (Industrial Distribution)

The Sales Director, Western US is responsible for leading and growing the West region for a fast-paced, private equity-backed industrial distribution and solutions company. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will lead a growing team of approximately 10 Account Managers.The Sales Director will be responsible for driving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, developing talent, and building accountability across the sales organization. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment and brings strong leadership, business planning, communication, and execution skills.This position requires approximately 70% travel throughout the West region.Essential responsibilities: Sales LeadershipLead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 10 Account Managers across the West regionDrive regional sales growth, profitability, customer retention, and market expansion initiativesDevelop and execute strategic territory and account plans aligned with company objectivesMonitor pipeline activity, forecasting, and overall regional sales performanceSupport key customer relationships and participate in strategic customer engagements as neededIdentify opportunities to expand market share and strengthen customer partnershipsTeam Development & AccountabilityEstablish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability measures across the sales teamConduct regular coaching sessions, ride-alongs, territory reviews, and performance discussionsDrive consistency in CRM utilization, reporting, customer engagement, and sales processesPartner with leadership on recruiting, onboarding, and developing top sales talentFoster a culture focused on responsiveness, ownership, collaboration, and resultsStrategic & Operational LeadershipDevelop annual business plans, growth strategies, and regional prioritiesProvide proactive communication and timely updates to executive leadership regarding business performance, opportunities, and risksPartner cross-functionally with operations, finance, customer service, and executive leadership teamsHelp build scalable processes and operational discipline within a growing organizationOperate effectively in a high-growth, private equity-backed environment with evolving prioritiesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or related field7+ years of progressive sales leadership experienceExperience leading remote or multi-state sales teamsProven success driving revenue growth and leading high-performing sales organizationsIndustrial, technical, manufacturing, or B2B distribution industry experience preferredExperience gained from PE operating company environments preferred
