Dogtown Bakery Kailua, a small, family owned growing business currently seeking a part time (18-20 hours per week) Baker/Decorator who will be responsible for working closely with our pastry chef assisting with baking and decorating our droolicious dog treats as well as assisting customers. If you have a love for dogs, enjoy baking and decorating, enjoy working in a smaller more intimate setting, have at least 2 years of retail experience and looking for a long-term position you are just who we are looking for! Interested? Apply! Responsibilities: Work between 18-20 hours per week (weekdays & weekends)– Flexible/open schedule a huge plus! Baking, decorating and maintaining stock levels for all fresh-baked items Assisting Pastry chef with planning schedule & baking Maintain a clean and tidy workstation, store appearance and product presentation Work with customers and offer knowledgeable advice for products Answering phone calls and taking cake orders Receive, check-in, price, stock and merchandise product Provide continual creative suggestions and ideas for events, promotions, merchandising, new products and increasing store sales. Skills And Qualifications: Cake Decorating/Baking Knowledge. Piping Skills Be willing to learn and take instruction well. Have an eye for detail and care about final product. Have an outgoing personality and the ability to interact well with customers, other staff and dogs to make their experience in the bakery fun and enjoyable. Ability and willingness to keep busy throughout a shift. Be organized and diligent with paperwork. Be accurate and knowledgeable with the POS system. Ability to research & learn new techniques. Physical stamina to stand for the majority of your shift. Ability lift heavier items to assist customers or pastry chef. Have a true love of dogs, to look out for their best interest and suggest beneficial products for their health, happiness and well-being.
