2nd Shift Steel Processing Supervisor

Zimmerman Metals, Inc. seeks a Processing Supervisor. An ideal candidate would have both management and steel fabrication experience. This person must be organized, hardworking, and display strong communication skills. Responsibilities Supervise up to 15 employees in the Processing Department Maintain uniform work practices and safety standards Control quality of processed material Coordinate, schedule, plan and assign work to meet completion dates Maintain records and communicate scheduling status with Production Manager Coordinate processing methods, tooling, material requirements and equipment capabilities with Operations Manager Maintain performance while considering and coordinating with other departments Maintain records and reports, and punctually reply to requests from others Instruct and train personnel Maintain proper discipline and work habits Requirements Ability to work in and support a positive team environment Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints Experience working in a processing department Knowledge of steel processing exquipment Knowledge of AISC and AWS (FCAW) Experience managing others Processing experience in the structural steel industry Availability to work overtime and Saturdays Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials. Frequently required to lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Exposure to loud noises, heavy machinery, and potentially hazardous materials in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment: The position operates in a manufacturing or warehouse setting with exposure to outdoor weather conditions. May involve exposure to dust, dirt, and noise from machinery.
