OverviewBrewster Academy seeks an exceptional leader to serve as Director of Basketball Programs, responsible for advancing one of the most respected and visible basketball programs in the country. This individual will serve as the strategic and operational leader of Brewster Basketball, overseeing program development, supporting enrollment and recruitment, elevating the program’s national brand, and cultivating a thriving community of current student-athletes and alumni. The Director will lead all aspects of Brewster’s basketball programs, with primary responsibility for the boys NEPSAC AAA Prep team, while ensuring alignment across all boys and girls teams. This role requires a dynamic leader who can build, inspire, and sustain a high-performance culture that reflects Brewster’s commitment to excellence in athletics, academics, and community.AthleticsProvide visionary leadership for Brewster’s basketball programs, including four boys’ teams and two girls’ teams.Direct and coach the NEPSAC AAA Prep team as the program’s flagship competitive offeringEstablish and sustain a culture of excellence, accountability, and development across all levels of the programRecruit, develop, and mentor assistant coaches and basketball staff, ensuring alignment in philosophy and standardsCollaborate across programs to support a unified and high-performing basketball ecosystemRecruitment, Enrollment, and Pipeline Development:Serve as a key partner to the Admissions Office in the development and execution of a comprehensive basketball recruiting strategyBuild and maintain a strong national and international recruiting networkIdentify and recruit high-character, high-potential student-athletes aligned with Brewster’s mission and valuesSteward prospective families through the admissions process, from initial engagement through enrollmentContribute meaningfully to enrollment and yield outcomes through relationship-building and program positioningBrand and Alumni Engagement:Maintain and elevate the Brewster Basketball brand as a nationally recognized and respected programPartner with Marketing & Communications to shape and amplify the program’s story across multiple platformsCultivate strong relationships with alumni, including collegiate and professional players, to strengthen program visibility and long-term engagementDevelop opportunities for alumni mentorship, connection, and involvement with current student-athletesServe as a visible ambassador for Brewster Basketball within the broader basketball communityManage social media platforms for the Prep basketball program on Brewster platforms.Student-Athlete Development and College Placement:Support the holistic development of student-athletes as competitors, students, and leadersPartner with the College Office to ensure strong college placement outcomes at the Division I, II, and III levelsGuide student-athletes and families through the recruiting process with integrity, transparency, and expertiseProgram Development and Innovation:Design and lead initiatives that expand the reach and impact of Brewster Basketball, including camps, clinics, and global programmingDevelop summer and off-season programming that supports both revenue generation and long-term recruiting pipelinesExplore strategic partnerships that enhance student-athlete development and program visibilityOperations:Oversee all aspects of program operations, including scheduling, travel, budgeting, and logisticsEnsure efficient and effective program management aligned with institutional standardsCollaborate with Athletics leadership on strategic planning and resource allocationAdmissions Responsibilities:Manage a portfolio of prospective students and families in conjunction with the Director of AdmissionsPartner with the Admissions team to support recruitment, yield, and enrollment goalsRepresent Brewster at recruiting events, showcases, and key external engagementsConduct student interviews and campus tours; read a portfolio of assigned admissions applicationsContribute to the broader work of the Enrollment Management teamQualifications And AttributesDemonstrated success as a basketball coach and program leader at a high levelDeep understanding of the independent school national basketball landscape, including recruiting and college placementStrong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skillsExperience working in or alongside enrollment, recruitment, and talent identification environmentsCommitment to student development, character, and educational valuesAbility to collaborate across departments and contribute to institutional strategyWhy This Role:Brewster Basketball is a cornerstone of the school’s identity and national reputation.
