This is a hands-on leadership role owning the full sales and operations lifecycle—from developing contractor relationships and estimating to yard oversight, vendor strategy, and P&L impact. Ideal for a proactive, sales-driven lumber professional ready to shape a market, expand a customer base, and drive profitability with real autonomy.How You'll ContributeBuild and grow a strong contractor and builder network through proactive outreach and job site visitsDevelop and maintain a consistent sales pipeline with disciplined follow-up to win and retain businessReview plans, perform accurate take-offs, and deliver competitive, timely quotesIdentify upsell opportunities and recommend product alternatives to maximize value and marginAlign yard operations with sales priorities to ensure efficiency, organization, safety, and workflowCoordinate delivery schedules and workload planning to meet customer expectationsOversee and occasionally support equipment operation (e.g., forklifts, Moffetts)Monitor inventory levels, product movement, margins, and key SKUs to inform purchasingPartner with vendors on product selection, buybacks, pricing, and new opportunitiesAnticipate seasonal demand trends and recommend purchasing strategies based on real-time market conditionsManage performance using sales data, margin analysis, and P&L insights; adjust strategies to drive profitabilityProvide input on market trends, competitive positioning, and pricing strategyCollaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless execution from first conversation to final deliveryWhat Makes You a Great Fit5+ years of experience in lumber, building materials, or construction salesStrong estimating skills, including plan reading and accurate take-offsExperience leading or managing yard and/or delivery operationsProven vendor management and negotiation experienceBackground in inventory management and purchasing decisionsEstablished contractor or builder relationships in your marketDeep understanding of lumber products, pricing, and seasonal demand patternsProactive hunter mentality with a track record of building and growing pipelineStrong organization, communication, and follow-through skillsComfort working in an animal-friendly environment (accommodations available)
