Job Title: Master Electrician – Modular Construction
Location: Springfield, MO
Job Type: Full-Time
Join Our Team at Creative Modular Construction (CMC)
Creative Modular Construction (CMC) is seeking a highly experienced Master Electrician to serve as the company’s highest electrical authority. This role is responsible for electrical code compliance, technical training, process standardization, and quality leadership across modular commercial construction projects. The Master Electrician plays a critical role in building a scalable, high-performing electrical department capable of supporting increasingly complex modular buildings.
This position functions as a subject matter expert and quality leader. While this role does not have authority to modify MEP Engineer designs, it is expected to rigorously review, question, and challenge electrical designs to protect CMC’s constructability, quality standards, and long-term building performance.
What You’ll Do
Electrical Code & Technical Oversight
Serve as the senior technical authority for all electrical systems across modular buildings
Ensure strict compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable state and local requirements
Review and approve wiring diagrams, electrical layouts, interior panel designs, and load calculations
Identify design gaps or documentation deficiencies and coordinate resolution with Project Managers, Architects, and MEP Engineers
Training & Skills Development
Train electricians, helpers, and leads on proper installation practices, testing procedures, and code requirements
Develop and maintain a structured electrical training program covering safety, troubleshooting, and standardized wiring methods
Coach teams on specialty electrical skills to reduce variability across buildings and production sites
Mentor developing electricians to support long-term departmental growth
Provide electrical constructability training to in-house engineering staff
Inventory & Material Support
Partner with Purchasing and leadership to validate material ordering levels, safety stock, and supplier quality
Support root-cause investigations related to missing, incorrect, or mixed electrical components
Ensure electrical systems integrate cleanly with interior panels to minimize field modifications and rework
Quality Control & Inspection Leadership
Define electrical inspection standards for internal QC teams and external building inspectors
Collaborate with Quality to reduce electrical-related Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and rework costs
Establish standardized electrical test procedures, including continuity, load verification, grounding, and breaker validation
Drive early issue identification through proactive design review and shop-floor engagement
Process Standardization & Documentation
Develop electrical SOPs, installation guides, and quality standards across all building models
Partner with drafting teams to ensure accurate part dimensions, component drawings, and labeling
Enforce formal review processes to prevent undocumented electrical changes or “quick fixes”
Maintain documentation that supports consistent electrical installations across multiple production sites
Cross-Functional Alignment
Collaborate closely with Quality, Engineering, Purchasing, Site Leadership, and Operations
Coordinate with suppliers on panel design changes, hardware improvements, and component performance
Support production scale-up by improving electrical workflows, inspection readiness, and process flow
What We’re Looking For
Licensed Master Electrician with extensive commercial and/or industrial electrical experience
Deep working knowledge of NEC and inspection requirements
Proven ability to train, mentor, and technically lead electrical teams
Strong understanding of electrical design review, constructability, and modular production environments
High attention to detail, documentation discipline, and quality standards
Strong communication skills and confidence working cross-functionally
What We Offer
Competitive compensation based on experience
Full benefits after 90 days, including:
Medical insurance
Dental insurance
Vision insurance
Life insurance
Accident insurance
Short-term disability insurance
401(k) retirement plan with company match
Paid time off and paid holidays
Stable, year-round indoor work environment
Leadership role with significant impact on quality and long-term company success
Career growth and influence as the electrical authority across the organization
Team-oriented, respectful work culture
Faith-based, values-driven company leadership
Weekly paid Bible study during work hours
Supportive environment focused on personal, professional, and spiritual growth
This role is ideal for a seasoned Master Electrician who wants to move beyond daily installation work and shape the technical excellence, training culture, and quality standards of an entire electrical department.
