Apply via Dice today!Position OverviewThe Virginia Department of Health (VDH), Office of Information Management, is seeking an experienced .NET / SQL Server Programmer Developer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of multiple enterprise web applications.The selected candidate will work within a collaborative development environment supporting modern .NET technologies, SQL Server development, and web application enhancements.This role requires strong hands-on development expertise in ASP.NET/MVC, .NET Core, SQL Server, front-end technologies, and excellent communication/documentation skills.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and enhance ASP.NET MVC and .NET Core applicationsDesign and develop web-based applications and enhancementsCreate and maintain SQL Server database objects, queries, stored procedures, and database designsDevelop front-end functionality using HTML, JQuery, JavaScript, and related technologiesTroubleshoot and resolve application issues and defectsParticipate in project planning sessions, meetings, and development activitiesCollaborate with business users and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver solutionsPrepare technical documentation and support materialsSupport application deployment and maintenance activitiesRequired QualificationsStrong experience with C# .NET developmentExperience with ASP.NET MVC and/or .NET CoreExpertise in HTML, JQuery, and JavaScriptStrong SQL Server database design and development experienceExperience in web design and developmentStrong communication and documentation skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with GitLab and DevSecOps practicesExperience working in Agile development environmentsKnowledge of Microsoft M365 technologiesExposure to Azure Cloud and Power Platform technologies
