The Pharmacy Technician will be the main point of contact for interactions with the pharmacy and will be responsible for carrying out the day to day operations of the pharmacy. The Pharmacy Technician will assist the Pharmacy Supervisor and other clinical team members with clinical programs as needed.Essential Job FunctionsData entry of patient/facility information and prescription ordersCustomer service (i.e., receiving and processing order requests)Daily fill including controlled substancesPrescription fulfillment (i.e., various packaging, ATP2, blister packaging, vials)Staging items for delivery or shipmentResolve billing issuesAssist Pharmacist with management of appropriate inventory levelsRespond to telephone inquiries, referring to appropriate staff as neededComplete special projects as assigned by supervisorMay maintain records related to the use of pharmaceuticals and quality assurance activities as directedMay maintain relationships with nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals regarding medication problems for individual patientsMay participate in the development of and coordinate orientation and training programs for other pharmacy techniciansDemonstrate cultural competence by being respectful of and responsive to health beliefs, practices, cultural and language needs of the member and his/her support systemComply with all local, State, and Federal laws with regards to protected health information (PHI), including HIPAAEnsure pharmacy policies and procedures are followedPerform all other duties relevant to the position as assigned by supervisor.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to work collaboratively and effectively with interdisciplinary team members, pharmacy patients, families, and providersAbility to communicate effectively, both orally and in writingAbility to organize complex information and make independent decisionsMaintain all required certifications/training by State regulationsPossess strong computer skills and efficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other applicationsAbility to efficiently and competently navigate electronic health records (EHR) and electronic medication administration records (eMAR)Education And ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience1-2 years’ experience working in Long Term Care, retail, or hospital outpatient pharmacy preferredCertification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferredAbility to work independently and in a team environmentComputer, email, fax and scan knowledgeAll experience and education requirements, except when required by federal, state, or local laws or requirements, may be waived at the discretion of management with the approval of the Executive Vice President, in collaboration with Human Resources.Physical Requirements/Working ConditionsAbility to sit continuouslyMust be able to lift and carry up to 40 poundsMust be able to reach above shoulder levelAbility to twist/turn upper bodyAble to use hands/arms repetitive action for fine manipulating, keyboarding, and typingThe listed salary range represents the organization's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
