This role involves performing diagnostic eye tests, assisting physicians during procedures, and ensuring efficient patient flow while maintaining high standards of patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical & Diagnostic SupportPerform preliminary ophthalmic examinations, including:Visual field testing (central and peripheral)Ocular motility and color vision assessmentsTonometry and tonography (intraocular pressure measurement)Pharmacological pupil testing and dilationPatient Care & CoordinationCollect and document patient medical and personal historyPrepare patients for physician evaluationManage patient flow and scheduling for tests and proceduresEducate patients and families on diagnostic procedures and treatmentsEquipment & Environment MaintenanceCalibrate and maintain ophthalmic instruments such as:Slit lampsKeratometersLensometersEnsure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for useProcedure AssistanceAssist physicians with clinical and minor surgical proceduresPrepare and sterilize instruments for ophthalmic surgeriesSupport laser treatments and operating room cases as neededRequired SkillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to multitask and manage workflow efficientlyEducation & RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED (required)Ophthalmic Technician Certification (required)Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
