Title: Senior Backend Java Developer
Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite 5 Days/Week)
Duration: 12 months (possible extension)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Java Developer to join the team responsible for the end-to-end account opening platform, serving as the source of record for account data across all lines of business. This is a critical backend engineering role where system reliability, data integrity, and production ownership are essential. The team follows a “You Build It, You Run It” model—engineers are responsible for feature development through production support and operational health. This is not a greenfield environment; the selected candidate will inherit and enhance existing systems and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain backend services supporting the enterprise account opening process
- Develop scalable microservices using Java and Spring BootWork with Kafka in an event-driven architecture to support asynchronous data flows
- Design and develop robust REST APIs for internal and downstream integrations
- Contribute to backend solution design and architecture discussions
Own production incidents end-to-end including triage, debugging, root cause analysis, and resolution.
Independently pick up and deliver Jira tickets with minimal guidance.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership through code reviews and best practices.
Proactively identify blockers, risks, and improvement opportunities
Support production stability and ensure platform reliability/availability
